I have been in the ministry almost 20 years now. Over the years, I have learned many wonderful things, and many things that are not so wonderful. When I was young, I started my ministry thinking that all church attendees were holy and blameless and had nothing but the best intentions. I soon discovered that church people are just like people at work. Many have agendas such as control, power, or creating problems. Some people never seem to be satisfied.
While the majority of people who attend church lead innocent lives, they also live apathetic lives. Many times it is the youngest, most immature believers who attempt to passionately serve Christ, only to become frustrated at the lack of interest of others, or worse yet, try to bite off more than they can chew and end up representing Christ poorly.
On the other hand, I have seen and been around individuals who were clearly changed as a result of the hand of God. These people are few in number, but their lives and testimony seems to change everyone around them. I want to be one of those people.
My goal with this blog is to establish a healthy atmosphere where faith can be discussed openly and with civility. I will attempt to address all serious questions about what I believe about the bible and what it teaches.
I want to encourage open debate, but I also want to lay out a few ground rules. Please be considerate since this is my blog.
1. Ask any question you like, but only if you really want an answer.
2. Do not use profanity. I am a youth minister. Many of the teenagers I work with will likely find this blog. Please keep this in mind.
3. No name calling
4. I will not act as if your beliefs are stupid or ignorant, I would appreciate the same courtesy in return.
5. Watch the language and name calling
6. Don't use bad language or name calling (get the hint).
I'm looking forward to your thoughts
